MEET THE WINNER: A few weeks ago, we held a competition for Dave Polsky (he's on the right). He owns Polsky Tire and Auto Centers in Green Valley. He wanted to help out during these rough time by giving away a set of tires. We put out the call and we had plenty of entries. The winner is Kathie Bernat (center), a single mom and teacher at Salpointe Catholic High School in Tucson. Turns out Kathie borrowed money and bought tires before she knew she'd won, so Dave decided to provide auto maintenance services valued at $1,132. That's Dave's shop manager Michele Bojorquez at left. Thanks, Dave!
AHOY, BIRDIE: An American White Pelican took a little detour and landed in a pond at the San Ignacio Golf Course on Monday. Melissa Harnish captured the visit.
